Great Day Hiking Rarámuri Easter Trek Urique/Batopilas treks

While you certainly do not have to hike or trek to enjoy the amazing Copper Canyon, it is a great place to so, with some world-class hiking trails and campsites.

If you are so inclined to enjoy the Copper Canyon's wonderful backcountry by foot, we are proud to feature three of the best itineraries around to help you enjoy this natural wonder.

From the outstanding scenery and cultural interaction of our Raramuri Easter Trek, to the variety and flexibility of our Great Day Hiking trip, to our year-round multi-day treks, where a pack animal carries the heavy stuff so all you have to do is enjoy the walk, Copper Canyon Adventures has something for every hiking taste.

We look forward to hiking with you soon!

Both my husband Doug and I really enjoyed the trip.  All the accommodations were great, extremely comfortable.  Food also was very good and very plentiful.  Hiking was sufficiently demanding and views spectacular.

All the arrangements seemed to be timed and handled perfectly.  I must give Christina full credit for coordinating everything so well and making sure all our needs were met.  She handled all the details so efficiently and yet related with us all so well on a personal level.

The hiking adventure was considerably enriched by her knowledge of geography, culture and history.  Clone her, she is a great person.

Our creed:

"Ecotourism is environmentally responsible travel and visitation to
relatively undisturbed natural areas, in order to enjoy and appreciate
nature (and any accompanying cultural features - both past and present) that
promotes conservation, has low negative visitor impact, and provides for
beneficially active socio-economic involvement of local populations
(Ceballos-Lascurain, Tourism, Ecotourism and Protected Areas, IUCN, 1996)".

(Note: We use the word Raramuri throughout as the most accurate name of the indigenous people of the Copper Canyon (what they call themselves, not the more commonly used "Tarahumara", which is actually a word the Spanish created))

Please note that while many of our trips start with your arrival in Los Mochis, we can modify ANY itinerary to start in El Paso or Chihuahua, if that is your preferred starting point.  Please note that because of the greater distances to many areas in the Copper Canyon from those two cities, itineraries which start from there may require more transportation time, and may be more expensive due to the increased transportation cost. These increased time and money costs may offset any benefits from lower airfares to these cities, but we will do what we can to keep your trip cost down.
